Whether we admit it, we all want a How-To in every area of our life.
It’s a long, tiring process trying to figure things out and really, who wouldn’t want a How-To Live the Best Life You Can that wouldn’t just tell you How-To do it but Do-It for you?
Whenever we read a How-To we are secretly looking for,
Someone else to do it for us.
Someone else to pull us out of our problems,
Someone else to talk to the person we dread to do ourselves,
Someone else to go through the process of change,
Someone else to work out for them or lose weight,
Someone else to make us better with no effort on our part.
And that’s the thing, Our culture has become lazy.
We don’t want to do anything, we want others to do it for us.
Let me tell you a secret, this is the How-To of all How-To’s;
You have to do it yourself.
I’ll say that again so it sinks in; You have to live your life yourself. The choices you make will effect your life and what you don’t do will also. If you choose not to go to the gym then getting fit will be harder. If you choose to not apologize then relationships will not be mended. If you choose not to step out to meet people then making friends will become slimmer. How-To’s are just a guide in how you can walk through what you are facing. They are not the answers, they are not founded truths, they are simply someone else’s way. Someone that was right where you are and did those things to help them get where they are. They might not be easy steps but they can help you, but first you must choose to help yourself.
You will have to step out and do what you know you need to do.
In the long run, there is no easy way out.
This life is what you choose it to be,
Sure we can’t control what happens, but we can choose how we react and what we allow to control us emotionally and mentally.
You are smarter than you think, more beautiful than you see and even more able that you give yourself credit for.
Rather they should not be How-To but How-Do. How do you live the best life yet?
1)Begin to live it.
Make wise choices and learn to choose what you know is right even when it is hard. Life is meant to be lived, experienced and worked through. It will never be per
2)Smile more, Be Thankful and Stay Positive
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
3) Being faithful
Not only in relationships but to commitments. If you have committed to getting in shape or going to church more than remain faithful to that commitment.
4) Accepting that no one else can do things for you.
You are able to do whatever you put your mind too.
If you want a better life, a better you, a better career-then go and do what you know will bring such things. No longer let old habits and patterns keep you from stepping out.
5) Seeing that you are responsible for you.
Whether you stick to your plan or not, you are the only one who makes that decision.
You are responsible to choose how you see something, what you decide and where you go with your life.
You are the only one who can put your heart and soul into something-others can tell you what to do, but only you can choose what you put your time, energy and heart into. You are responsible for yourself, your health, your education, your job, your faith and your well-being.
We all have a place for change, it’s what we choose to do with what we know we have to deal with. Whether we ignore it or face up to it and work through it.
Also friends are there to support you and not make your decisions for you. It is great to have people in your life who will support you and walk with you through the choices you make. Friends and pillars of your life, not the designer.
5)Don’t do it alone.
Our Lord longs for us to love Him with all that we have, and He has given us the best and greatest how-to, the Bible. I pray that whether you’ve read it a million times or have never read it, that when opening it, He speaks to you and reveals His heart for you and a deeper sense on how you are able to do what you have never thought you were able too.
For He can make the lame walk. Stop letting fears and insecurities disable you. Walk freely into the life Jesus has made a way for you to live.
He’s got your back and doesn’t want you to live life alone! He wants to walk with you through it and show you How-To do it not by your power and strength but His.
I’m cheering you on.
Live the best life you can and be the best you, you can be. Sure how-to’s can give you advice but they won’t be there to hold you too what you know you need to do. They won’t clear the way and let the walk be easy-they are simply windows towards the life that you must open the door too, to get inside.
Read Hebrews 12 and may you be so blessed into this New Year!
“Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.” Hebrews 12:12-13
