I have been so humbled since coming to camp and am so thankful for it. I had a friend speak into my life continually before coming here.
Do not compromise. Never compromise.
At first I didn’t really understand what he ment and what not to compromise on. And after almost two weeks here, I can now see it. It is so easy to compromise your call or anything that the Lord has called you to. It’s easy to go through a process of change and lose something in the process but it’s so vital to remain rooted and grounded in Christ.
What does rooted and grounded look like?
Continuing to pray, communing with God throughout the day. Spending time daily in the word and in His presence, with others but also alone. Also making sure that what you are doing daily is glorifying to God and honoring the Holy Spirit.
It is easy to get caught up in pouring into others and forgetting to be filled yourself. And once we are poured out, dry and empty that is when compromising is easy. For we are no longer allowing the source of living water to run through us, we seek comfort and fulfillment in other things, which does not build us up but tears us down and really just leaves us more unsatisfied.
I like to see it as being on a boat. When we are floating on fresh water, the supply of water is unlimited. But if we do not remain on that river but drift out to sea, not taking any extra drinking water with us, we will become thirsty and desperate. Once on salt water, although we know it will only make us thirstier and possibly could dehydrate us and kill us-we are in a moment of choices. Do you compromise and take what you know is not good for you, because we are desperate? Or do you struggle to make it back to the river through the help of Jesus and allow His fresh, renewing Spirit to wash over and through you?
No matter where you feel you are in life. Why compromise? Why compromise what the Lord has already provided you with, because you haven’t supplied yourself with enough of it? For we must seek the Lord daily to be renewed, we must seek Him everyday to be refreshed and filled. God is waiting for us to ask before He does. If you feel you may be lacking something, ask God who gives freely to pour into you. Do not seek the things of the world to feed your fleshly desires rather than seeking the Lord to renew your Spirit. Remain in the Lord and you will recieve His blessings and abundance. Compromising will never lead you closer to God but will weigh you down as you continue to choose the things of the world rather than God Almighty. For just as the parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25 all went out with lamps to go to meet the bridegroom. 5 brought extra oil and 5 did not. The five that brought the oil, were able to make it to meet the bridegroom as they had the oil they needed to keep their flames burning and not go out. Keep being ignited and refueled by the Lord. May you allow Him to keep your going and building your faith on a strong soild foundation. For in Him, we never live in lack but abundance.
Before you get to dehydration, seek the Lord. Read His Word, commune with Him and spend time soaking in His presence and fellowshipping with His people. Do not allow any distractions lead you away from His presence which can bring you to a place of compromise.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:1-2
If we desire to be a generation of Kingdom Bringers, we must continue to be filled by the Lord daily and set on fire by Him. Once we allow our flames to burn out, we begin to lose sight of what He has promised us. Stand in faith always. Even when you do not feel, do not see or do not have crazy experiences or encounters. Remain grounded in His Word, in His Truths and who He says He is and what He has promised you. Allow your faith to be built on who He is, not experiences. And never, ever compromise. Jesus is worth more than anything in this world. For when you are continuing to fall deeper and deeper inlove with Jesus and in His presence, you will never want to compromise. Never allow the devil a foothold in your life. Never allow yourself to feel that God isn’t with you, for He is. He has already given you all, you must come to a place to recieve it all. Each of our walks with God is beautifully different, and seek Him as you will to recieve all He has freely given.
“Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually!” 1 Chronicles 16:11
For Jesus is enough and there is nothing, absolutley nothing in this world that is worth more than Him. There is nothing in this world that can satsify your heart and soul as much as His presence, life and love. Allow Him to be your constant source of water and you will never run dry.
