The Beauty of Love First

So often we think knowing God is knowledge. The more you know about things the more you will know about God. I see a difference between knowing about God and knowing Him. For when we know Him, we build a relationship through intimiacy and through love-not so much trying to gather up knowledge to throw out at others when talking. For if we try to gain head knowledge without a heart of love behind it, it will leave us feeling empty and unsatsified, trying to seek understanding with words rather than revelation. 9d9cea7eb765a026f8ec0b74e6da590c

For I believe when we seek God through love-then reading the Bible becomes a choice, worship becomes heart-felt and prayer becomes constant. Without a motive of love, we are simply gathering knowledge rather than living in the truth. Don’t get me wrong, knowledge is great and we do need to know scripture. I do see the beauty in love though. For when we love Him above all else, everything we do will stem from desiring to know Him deeper not just know about Him. But when we see reading and going to church as something out of discipline, we miss the beauty of fellowship with God through love. For when we love, we do what pleases Him and seek to honor and glorify Him through all things, rather than mere obligation. For I believe a heart of love is what brings people into Gods heart-for when we love, we are close to Him and are able to share His heart with those around us. When we know we are loved and have a great revelation of that, nothing will keep us from doing what He asks us to do. But when we miss revelation of His love for us and seek to live in performance rather than resting in Him, we miss site of enjoying our day to day life with Him. May you not burn out from striving but live being empowered by His grace through His love!!

How do we know Him?
Begin to pursue Him, begin to pray and ask for greater revelation of His love for you. Begin to worship alone and praise Him. Begin to read your Bible and ask for the Holy Spirit to bring forth revelation of His Word to you. And from beginning to step out in faith, I pray that your heart will be awakened with love to hunger and thirst for more of God.

“I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.” Hosea 6:6…”To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Mark 12:33

For God is seeking lovers. Those who love Him and spend time with Him. For “…The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7). He cares more about our motives and why we do what we do, rather than simply doing it because of ritual or a set of rules. For “But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.” (Romans 7:6) We seek the Lords face through The Word and live in faith, moving through love. May our hearts be softened and eyes be opened to love the Lord with all of our being and not lean on our own understanding but trust in Him! For through the Bible we are able to know God intimitly and come into His presence to be transformed. For we can either be stagnant or allow His living water to flow through us, taking us deeper into His heart and allowing us to experience all that His Word speaks of!

God is love, and He loves you. And the most beautiful thing is when it turns from a religion to a relationship and I pray that you will gain revelation of a relationship with God Almighty. For when we seek His face, we will see Him in new ways and begin to live through His Word not trying to understand His Word. For if we waited until we understood everything or could make sense of all He asked of us, we would never do anything-and thats where love comes. When we love, we move and do, simply because we know it will please Him. Knowledge will keep us questioning and pursuing understanding of why, how and what, rather than saying yes and moving to do it. For knowledge simply fills the mind but leaves the heart empty, however when the heart is full of love; it will fuel our lamp to gather more oil to keep it burning. Which means that when our hearts are full of love, it will fuel us to seek to know Him more, through intimicy and knowledge. “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James 1:22

May you be a man/woman after the heart of God ! May your heart be enlightened with love to know Him and be known by Him and I pray you will have a great revelation of His love for you !!!
