Sing like no one’s listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like nobody’s watching. and live like it’s heaven on earth
I am sure you’ve read that quote before. So how do we do these things as if they’ve never happened when they have? How do we live a life not trying to compare ourselves to others or not seeking approval from man? How do we live freely as if no one is watching in reality people are.
I would have to say that our lives are meant to be witnessed by others. For when people look at your life they are supposed to see something dramatically different. They are to see something beautiful, something good, something that they too would like. Not out of jealousy but because you are living as an example. For as you know, we were created for a purpose by a living God who desires to be shone through us in all that we do, whether word or deed, He longs to be glorified.
So how do we do that without trying to meet the standard of man? Or in selfishness? How do we live so freely, as ourselves in a world that is desperatly trying to conform us to its ways of looking a certain way, dressing in the latest fashion and living the “american dream”. How do we live boldly as if no one is watching, but yet others see all that we do. For although we are not seeking mans approval, we do need to live a life of honor and integrity, that when people see us, they see someone who lives upright, blameless and joyfully through love. Live freely as who you are, don’t fear judgment from man-for the world needs you as you are.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
For when we are able to see the truth about us and what sets us apart from others, we are able to start removing the lies that others have placed on us. Whether from your parents, family members, teachers, or kids growing up-we have been labelled and probably spoken down too. But today you are able to release your inner potential, you are able to again flame the desires of your heart and release your true inner self. You no longer need to be held down by seeking approval from man, but once you discover who you truly are-be that person, do not be who you think others need-for truth be told, people need you as you are, who you are. You are who you are for a reason. Do not allow bad habits to keep you from being a better person. Do not allow guilt or shame keep you from being free to be someone who loves without boundries.
1) Take time today to write down your dreams, what legacy you want to leave behind, truth about you (nothing negative), and the kind of life you want to live and leave behind and release yourself to be who you truly are.
2)Watch what you say; choose your words wisely, removing all negative talk whether about yourself or others-speak in truth and love to all.
3)Do what you know is right even if everyone around you isn’t doing it. People need others who set themselves apart. For how can anyone know different if no one else is doing it. For standing apart takes faith and boldness. It takes heart not to confrom, so take heart and rise above the ways of others and do what you know is right-not looking to man for guidance but the Lord God.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter2:9
4)Remember when you were a child and you had no cares in the world? Re-gain your innocence and purity. Live joyfully, live doing simple fun things throughout your daily life-regardless of your age. We only lose our youth once we choose so. Live fixing your eyes on Jesus and live as He calls us to live “that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,” Philippians 2:15
5)Reminding yourself that you were not created to be like anyone else. You were not created with the same qualities, personality, traits, destiny, talents as anyone else. You were given beautiful things for your own purpose-to use them and strengthen them. Live doing what you love to do. Live freely doing what you know is your hearts desire, regardless if people think it’s stupid, or if it doesn’t make enough money. This is your life, for you to live it with your God given abilities.
Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
6)Remind yourself that everyone has inseccurites that are stopping them from living freely. So be someone who looks past themselves and enjoys their life. Have fun in the things you do. Laugh more. Sing more. Dance more. Love more. Forgive fast-keep short accounts with people. For people long to see someone who enjoys life so they too can enjoy it. All others need to see are people who live radically and apart from society so they know they can too.
7)Make your life worth watching. Allow the way you live to aspire others to live their life boldly. We aren’t merely living to just satisfy ourselves but to help others reach their fullest potential. Live freely so others can see they too can be set free and live!!
8)Show people the right way to live and stop checking to see if people are watching. Just do you, live from your heart and keep your eyes fixed above not around you. Do not do evil against others, but love others, regardless if you feel they need it/deserve it or not. Make wise decisions, do the right thing even if its hard. See the bigger picture: that life is short and love is the greatest thing-so love all, be kind to all, be humble and love others as you love yourself.
9) Live in heaven here on earth. You do not have to live without hope-for we lose hope when we focus on just life here on earth. Realize that in Jesus, we have the hope of eternal life. We have hope of fullness of life. That even when difficult times come, we have hope that He who has begun a good work will complete it and He who promised will fulfill His promises.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
10)Lastly, live intentionally. Everything you do, do it well. Set an example to others in all you do. Do not live just to survive, but live to succeed! Keep your eyes fixed on what you know, on who you are-reminding yourself that you are beautiful, you are unique, you are loved and are wonderfully made to shine like a star-no matter what darkness surrounds you. Give others hope through your life.
May you continue to live boldly in all you do. Do all things as if no one is watching, enjoying the little things, laughing more, dancing often and releasing your inner child. Not being irresponsible but living in joy. Living child-like not child-ish. For the world needs people who bring life back to the wearisome workers who are caught up in the world and have lost sight of the joy that comes with living-despite working and making an earning. Love more, sing more, breath more, dance more and bring heaven to earth-not only for yourself but for others to see that yes it is possible. Make your life worth watching-people need you, the world needs you-exactly who you are, for all the good within you, for all the love you have to give, for all the giftings and talents you possess, the world needs you in your greatest potential! Don’t be afraid to let it shine and live as you are, not as you think you should be. The only expecations are the ones you place on yourself. So take them off and live with intetion, with purpose and with love.
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8
