20 Truths to a Better Life


20)Walk away from worry: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?…And which of you by being anvious can add a single hour to his span of life?…but seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you..” (Matthew 6:15,17,33) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,  casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7) The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. (Psalm 28:7)

19)Realizing that God loves you! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:9-11)For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. (John 6:40) I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine (Song of Solomom 6:3)

18)Realizing your identity: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”(2 Corinthians 6:18) For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14) Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. (Galatians 4:6-7) You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:5) Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God (1 John 3:2)

17) Realizing you were created for something beautiful; “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm13-16)

16)Be Kind and Live with Right Motives: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good , Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all (Romans 12:21,17) “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” (Luke 6:27-28) Abstain from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22) They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. (1 Peter 3:11) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

15)Perseverance; even when hard times come-have hope, things will get better: More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5) Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (1 Chronicles 16:11) Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James1:2-4)Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. (Psalm 62:5)

14)Speaking only truth: Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up as fits the occassion, that it may give gracce to those who hear.. (Ephesians 4:29) My lips will not say anything wicked, and my tongue will not utter lies. (Job 27:4) The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.(Proverbs 18:21)My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry (James 1:19)

13) Praying;Prayer is not only commanding things to Father God in times of need, but spending time to thank Him, talk to Him, communing with the Holy Spirit (once recieving Jesus, His Spirit lives within you),  even about the little things; Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer (Romans 12:15)9)Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7) And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14) But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 16-17)

12) Reading the Bible: If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.(John 15:7) And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.(2 Timothy 3:16-17) For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge (2 Peter 1:5)

11) Don’t live like everyone else:Do not conform to the this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind (Romans 12:2) But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.(John 14:27) “The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever” 1 John 2:17

10) Helping others“Encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all cirumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:14-19) Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10) Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,(Philippians 2:3) As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. (1 Thessalonians 3:13)

9)Not worshipping the things of the world (money, celeberities, false gods, even ourselves) but the true God: Give to the LORD the glory due to his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth” (Psalm 96:8-9) Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all you lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. (Psalm 100:1-2) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'”(Luke 4:8) You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. (Exodus 20:3-4)For what we worship is what our hearts are set towards. 

8)Living Selflessly: So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them (Matthew 7:12) Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27) “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

7)Not being consumed with apperances, for our hearts are what matters most: But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7) “But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.  My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart  For they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.  Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.  Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. (Proverbs 4:19-27)

6)Not simply living to gain riches here, but being rich in the eyes of God: Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21) Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.(1 Timothy 6:17-19)

5)The way you live your life: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8) Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Colossians 3:12,17) Walk in a manner worthy of your calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentelness, with patience, bearing with one another in love (Ephesians 4:1-2)

4)Humility; accepting responsibility from our wrong ways, repenting and seeking forgivness from the Lord :For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you. (Acts 8:22) “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord (Acts 3:19)

3)Accepting forgivness from Jesus, forgiving yourself and others; for unforgivness harbors bitterness and pain: Let all bitterness and wrather and anger and clamor and slanger be put away from you along with all malice. Be kind to one another in tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.  (Ephesians 4:31-32) For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15)Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)

2)Love the Lord,others and yourself“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” (Luke 10:27) Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. (Hebrews 13:1)

1)Living constantly in thanksgiving, praise and joy: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4) A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. (Proverbs 17:22) Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. (Psalm 16:9) More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (Romans 5:11) For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. (Psalm 33:21) This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

 Accepting Jesus as Lord: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved…for “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:9-10,13)

For I have come to realize that if I am living simply to make it through this life, then all I live for would be meaningless. For we impact this world. We were created for a purpose; to bring forth something into this world that others need. We were created in the image of God to shine His love here. I live for an eternal Kingdom, since I have eternal life (Jesus Christ) dwelling within me. My life and the choices I make here and now, reap an eternal destiny and work towards the Kingdom of God. For life is beautiful, and it is amazing to think that eternal life begins here and now and what we do matters. May your eyes be opened to the fullness of life you are able to live -for in Jesus, nothing is ever a waste or meaningless and through Jesus we are able to live as we were created to-to be children of God, bringing Heaven to earth. “May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” Matthew 6:10

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men” Romans 12:17-18
