“So I prophesied as I was commanded. While I prophesised there was a noise and a rattling. The bones came together, bone to bone. I looked and saw muscles come on the bones and flesh grew, and skin covered the bones. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the wind. Prophesy, human, and say to the wind, ‘This is what the Lord God says: Wind come from the four winds, and breathe on these people who were killed so they can come back to life.’” So I prophesised as the Lord commanded me. And the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, a very large army.” Ezekiel 37:7-10
This passage excites me so much as I am able to see with hope what the Lord is capable of doing through those who are obedient to Him-bringing forth life to this dry dead land. For all need the breath of the living Lord to bring them back to life. For when Jesus rose from the grave and saw His disciples, “Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22
For because of sin, those who do not know Jesus as Lord are dead as they are not rooted in the source of eternal life, Jesus Christ. When they come to know Jesus through those who He already lives within, they are brought back to life through the breath of His Holy Spirit coming in them. How amazing is it that Jesus longs for all to come to know Him, for all to rise up from death and recieve eternal life…Jesus may we as soilders of the faith rise up to allow you to release your breath through us into those who desperatly need you. For Jesus you are life, you are what our hearts desire, may we share what you have given us with all-bringing to life all those who are apart from you.
“As we recieved Christ Jesus the Lord, so continue to live in Him. Keep your roots deep in Him and have your lives built on Him. Be strong in the faith as you were taught and always be thankful.” Colossians 2:6-7
For although we can look alive on the outside, if we do not have Jesus we are dead on the inside. Just as Satan was seperated from God, the source of life. He is as if a branch has been cut off the tree of life and is now withering and dying. But we who are rooted in eternal life and the souce of life, are able to bring forth Jesus into this world so that all may come to life again-coming to see the true source of life and they themselves become rooted in the tree of life. Through Christ’s life in us, He is able to bring His orphans back into sonship with Him. For all who do not know Abba as Father are orphans longing to be known as children and God is calling them back into the relationship He desired man and Him to be in. Just as Jesus is the Son of God, we too are called to be children of God which is only able through accepting Christ.
“All of God lives fully in Christ (even when Christ was on earth), and you have a full and true life in christ, who is ruler over all rulers and powers.” Colossians 2:9-10
“You were all baptized into Christ, and so you were all clothed with Christ. this means that you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:26-27
I believe that Jesus is calling us to arise and allow His life to flow through us into those around us. For us to be set of fire by His power to release His breath upon the world-to allow His flowing river of life to pour out of us and rain down on the earth-bringing forth new life and rising to life those who are burdened and dying in sin.
“Brothers and sisters, God loves you and we know he has chosen you, because the Good news we brought to you came not only with words but with power, with the Holy Spirit and with sure knowledge that is true. Also you know how we lived when we were with you in order to help you.” 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5
When we were dead in sin, we were not filled with life but rather apart of the earth. However when we recieved the breath of life, we were brought back to life, clothes in Jesus Christ Himself. We no longer carry ourselves as apart of the world but as servants of the Living God. We died to our flesh and took on the image and life of Christ. We are no longer to live as apart of the earths ways but to arise as servants of the God Most High. Carrying His presence forth into this world so that those who see us, hear us, may see Christ and come to know Him. Our bodies are merely vessels which are held together by the power of Jesus Christ within us.
“Since you were raised from the dead with christ, aim at what is in heaven, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God. think only about the things in heaven and not the things on earth. Your old sinful self has died and your new life is kept with Christ in God. Christ is your life and when He comes again, you will share in His glory” Colossians 3:1-4
Continue to walk as sons and daughters of the King. Allow Him to shine through you in all you do-may His life be represented through yours so that others who are hungry, thirsty and starving may come to you to recieve all that they need-Jesus Christ. For we are to be those who do not hinder His life in us but allow it to flow freely, releasing His life to all who need it. Through our faithfulness, He will bring to life a generation of lovers who long to speak life to those who are dead. For life only comes from Christ Himself, may we represent Him well and fight the good fight for our King so that none may perish but all will be brought back to life. For although the world is in need of His flowing water, we must be the source in which it is released through.
Abba, may you use us, not as we will but as you will. So that your glory may be seen. That those who don’t know you will come to see you for who you are. May you soften hearts and open eyes so that others will be able to see their need for you. May you release your Holy Spirit through us, so all may encounter your goodness, love and grace. May we be emptied so that you may be complete in us. May our lives be used to bring forth your life into this world. In Jesus glorious name, Amen!
“The Lord will always lead you. He will satisfy your needs in dry lands and gives strength to your bones. You will be like a garden that has much water, like a spring that never runs dry.” Isaiah 58:11
