shaming the world

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise and he chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong” 1 Corinthians 1:27

I have been faced with decisions in my life which either involved a great step of faith or a step backwards, and most of the time I took the step backwards. I would get scared, I would begin to question whether the Lord would call me to such a thing where others could not understand or themselves would question me. I didn’t see that  The Lord desires us to take great risks by choosing foolish-looking plans in order to shame the wisdom of the world to bring about great glory for Himself.

I have come to see that with each window that opens for me, begging me to jump through I  still must immerse myself in His word, prayer and surrounding myself with Godly people to speak truth-ensuring that I am taking a step in faith rather than a reckless step in foolishness. I thank the Lord that He is a God who goes against every way of the world, that He does not settle for conforming but desires us to rise to a new level of faith and to reach a higher level of knowing Him.

Think of everyone in the Bible who had to take radical steps in faith, which seemed crazy to those around them and most of the time, for themselves it made no sense but they had an utter peace and unpassable clear call from God Himself, that they stepped out to glorify Him even if that meant a possibility of shaming themselves or losing there life.

For it’s okay to be afriad, but it isn’t okay to allow fear to paralyze you from taking steps in faith towards Jesus. We must refocus our fears and instead of trying to keep people in our lives, keeping up our identity in the eyes of the world we must shift our fear onto fear of the Lord. Ask yourself, what do you choose, do you do what God is calling you too or trying to maintain peoples oppinion of you?

May we begin to move past fears of the world and stand apart by standing in His Word and walking in step with His Holy Spirit. May you come to realize the greatness of the call upon your life and all that the Lord can use you for. The Lord has placed such huge dreams in us and the ability to bring them to happen. May we continue to allow Him to be the center of our dreams, to move away from selfishness and turn our lives towards Him. For He is calling us to be apart of His Kingdom and through that, He empowers us to do unthinkable things through His power so others may know it could only come to pass becasue of God. But be reminded that joining in with His Kingdom involves stepping away from the world, embracing all that others will say and stepping in faith into the unknown. For the Lord will call you to do things in which our human understanding may question, but that is the beauty of faith and trusting in the one whom is calling you.

For we can stand in the gap and be willing to be the instrument through which our gracious Father works even when we are scared to death. For ordinary people like us can dramatically impact the course of history. For as Chip Ingram says;

“God delights to do impossible things through imporbable people and to impart exceeding grace to undeserving recipients”

May you bring your dreams to the Lord, may you bring whatever choices you are holding and lay them down at His feet. For God must be the source not only of our fulfillment but of our dreams to begin with. Once we grasp the immensity of His power, fear will no longer restraint us but empower us to go past our eartly limits and allow His power and goodness be seen.

Our Father prevails through all, learn to trust in Him and as I am learning- learn to walk in faith despite what others or the world may say. Be bold, Be courageous, Be passionatly inlove with Him-For He is calling you to a higher level, are you going to go with Him and learn to walk in His ways?

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.
