have you ever came to a point in life where you asked yourself, how did I get here? why am I going through this? there has been times I have come to an uncomfortable situation, or a time in my life where I questioned if I was in the will of God because I felt I shouldn’t have been feeling that way or going through something of such hardships. Each time I begin to have those questions and uncertainities the gracious Lord reminds me of John 16:32
“In this world you will have troubles, but take heart, I have overcome the world”
All throughout scripture, the Lord prepares us for hardships and trials, for rejection and persecution. the gospel of Jesus is based around suffering, so how do we conclude that we won’t have to face any? or when faced with circumstances we don’t want to be in, or something that seems to hard, we turn around and choose the easier path.
1 Peter 2:21 “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
Acts 14:22 “strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.”
1 Peter 4:13 “But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”
Read the book of James and all throughout it, it is said how to persever through hardships and suffering. In Acts 27:22-26, Paul and a ship full of men were going through a storm-as the storm worsened they began to panick, thinking they were going to die within the storm. However God has already told Paul that he would have gone through this storm but not to worry because He was with Him, and not a single man would die, and yet it took Paul time to finally accept that the storm He was facing was said would be something he would have to endure but that he would be brought out of it.
For whatever storms you face, whatever hardships, persecution and trials you are undergoing-persever and be reminded that the Lord has already told you ahead of time of what lies ahead-equip yourself with His word and stand firm in His truths-for He will always lead you out of whatever you may have found yourself in, be patient and trust in the only one who can save you.
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6
