wear your armour

after going through a time of spiritual heaviness and questionning, a season of uncertainity as to why I feel unrest. I have despertaly been seeking the Lord to reveal my heart, mind and spirit. I came across this short devotional and it has shone a light into that uneasiness- it has shown me the battle I feel that I have been facing and has removed a veil that has been blinding me from His truths.

through reading it ; I came to John 8:43-47

the devil will tell us lies such as we aren’t worthy, we don’t hold any value, we have no purpose, there is no way we can influence those around us, we have done to much wrong to be forgiven, we are unfit compared to Jesus, there is someone who can do this better than I could, God isn’t who I thought He was. those are the lies that the devil throws at us. I hope you realize that once you have begun to follow Jesus and move past the line of being apart of the world and inheriting a place within His glorious kingdom-we are no longer held down by sin. but be aware that the enemy and his plan changes from trying to hinder us with things of the world to things in which affect our usefulness and faithfulnessfor God. For once we begin to question and doubt ourselves, we are moving further away from working for the Lord as we feel unworthy of such privalges, holy work and most importantly unworthy of His love. we begin to believe the lies that Jesus has set us free from-that are nothing compared to the promises of God and love for us. (Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4-5, Zephaniah 3:17, 1 Peter 5:6-7, Psalm 86:1, Jeremiah 29:11, Colossians 2:6-7) I pray you will not only read His word and accept them as His truths, but from the depth of your heart you may believe them-let them be the words you let indwell into your mind and use when facing unrest and to overcome struggles with lies.

alao Luke 4:1-14

for when Jesus was in the wildnerness for 40 days and came out to be tempted by the devil-the devil did not tempt him with things of the world, or temptations that we thought he might have been.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

Jesus was tempted by the choice of recieving power, by gaining something in which would have brought Him further away from God’s presence and back into living within the world. He would have placed his own desires above his obedience to God- if Jesus would have given in, he would have shown he didn’t trust in God’s promises and truths. He would have shown no need for the one in which everything comes from.

we do the same, we believe those lies as we truly don’t trust in the promises of God. we turn to the ways of the world as we begin to believe that we aren’t worthy of His love and instead turn to quick fixes to find worth and value for ourselves.

I pray that you will begin to trust in God whole heartly, that you will be brought to a point where He is the only one you can trust in. May you not believe the lies that the enemy will try to fill your mind with-but may you put on the helmet of salvation, may you be armed in God’s armour, remaning strong and firm in the faith- and not forsaking your first love. continue to hunger and thirst for rigtheousness, and continually fall inlove with God day after day. remember who you are in Christ-your identity is no longer in the world, your value is no longer in what you do or what you have accomplished, it is within the Kingdom of God.

“when consumed by the world, go back to the word”

” Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.”

Hebrews 12:28-29
