do you care about what other’s think about you? have you made choices in your life, even mistakes, just because other’s were doing the same thing?
at one point in my life, I cared a lot about what other’s thought of me. I became a diferent person because I wanted to fit in and be accepted. After mistakes and downfalls, the gracious Lord came to show me that He has accepted me, and I no longer need to conform to the ways of the world.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2
Maybe I should be asking, who do you fear? do you fear rejection? do you fear losing friends because of what you believe in? do you even fear God?
Personally, I think most followers of Christ today even most people, have lost fear for the Lord God Almighty. And when talking about fear, I mean the healthy fear. The fear that He is all powerful, that He loves us so much and that yes He is also our Judge. We’ve lost the concept of coming to Him in reverance and now see Him as someone who will help up in our time of need, and in those moments when we don’t sense Him there, we begin to point fingers towards Him. Blaming Him for the way our situation turned out, for why my grandpa got cancer, for why He hasn’t helped me. Couldn’t He do the same to us? He could point fingers at us, asking why we didn’t answer Him when He was calling us to do something, why we don’t show Him love back, why we don’t talk to Him except when we need someething, or why we only come into His presence on Sunday mornings. But He doesn’t, He doesn’t blame us, He doesn’t look down on us. Instead He’s there trying to remind us of His great love and that He will never leave or forsake us. That we can find refugee in Him, that when we turn to Him, He will walk through whatever we are facing with us.
“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galations 1:10
We cannot serve both men and God, for when we are consumed by the judgment and approval of man, we lose sight of God and His will for our lives, as our eyes go from being fixed on Him to gazing upon the world and desiring something that will never last. God doesn’t look at our outward apperances, He made us in His image, He loves us, accepts us and desires us to fix our eyes upon Him.
“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
May today you begin to seek the Lords approval above all else, for He is the only one we should be serving, not any person. For our God is greater than anything we should desire here and He loves us with an everlasting love. May you be reminded of that. Nothing here matters, and life is to short to worry about the approval of man. For everyone has a different battle they are facing, a different struggle they are trying to overcome. We all have different eyes, different oppions, a different view of the world. We shouldn’t be seeking other’s approval who may not even approve of themselves.
Stay blessed my friends, and remember Jesus Loves You
